Barlow, Adrian

This is an introduction to FWW literature and is part of the Contexts in Literature series that C.U.P. are publishing. Although this book is aimed at 17-18 year olds, it is a very good introduction for anyone who is new to FWW literature and would like to learn more. It is well-written, clearly laid-out and well thought out. It contains some very useful sections, including a chronology relating to FWW literature, a glossary and a Further Reading list (which includes some web sites), as well as a 
good selection of extracts from FWW novels and some poems
(not all of which are well known texts, which I feel is a good thing).

This is an account, largely in their own words, of the relationship between Fyfe's great-aunt, May Cannan Wedderburn, one of the First World War's women poets, and her fiance, Bevil Quiller-Couch, son of the distinguished Cambridge academic, Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch, and a much-decorated soldier.
